How to Find Freedom

December 12, 20242 min read

Introduction:

This piece comes from a journaling session where I allowed my thoughts to flow freely, unfiltered by rules or structure. It reflects the ideas and lessons I’ve gathered from my experiences, moments where challenge and struggle became the path to growth. Through these reflections, I’ve come to believe that true liberation isn’t found in the absence of resistance but in the embrace of it. It is within the stillness of tension and the steadfastness of resilience that we discover the essence of freedom—a strength forged not by avoiding difficulty but by leaning into it.

8 Reasons

Body:

What is freedom without confinement. What is happiness without sorrow. What is love without hate. Reciprocals are plainly seen and constantly searched for by the human eye. We find what we are looking for by first deciding what we are not. This is a wonderful device of discernment that allows us to run towards what we want and flee hastily from what we don't. This spurs the question though, should we run away or should we walk proudly right through those things we are in such opposition to. On the one hand running provides safety, a warm return to the familiar and welcome. This fiery embrace melts the guard of even the strongest warrior enveloping them in its deceitful arms. Arms that swell and sing cool lullabies which unchecked will undoubtedly sink its target to the level at which it resides. The water above however is cold to the touch, wild and sharp. It is untamed and reaches out like a stranger with malintent. It does not caress, or whisper sweet nothings, it speaks in harshness and truth. All the more it needs not hide its intention for it boasts exactly what it offers. And what is that you, oh curious stranger may ask? An opportunity! An opening to step in and embrace its gifts. For it is so lonely all it wants is to give, but no one wants what he has. If only they would reach out he longs. He wishes he could change, but the gifts he has to offer would vanish if he did. So he relents in his isolation and dreams of the one who will fill his heart. You! Yes you with the warmth beaming off of your chest and the radiant glow, you are worthy. Join this lonely heart, don’t be stingy with your gifts, for everyone needs a little piece of each other. You are trapped by your own unmoving desire for resistance. Open up, breathe, and become whole. Only through movement can you find stillness, and only through tension can you find FREEDOM.

Conclusion:

To everyone reading this, welcome. I invite you to step into this space of reflection, exploration, and transformation. Together, let’s embark on a journey where we find strength in struggle, clarity in chaos, and freedom through resilience. Salutations to you as we move forward, embracing the balance of tension and triumph.
